Moroccan army inspector general meets U.S. Army secretary
The Inspector General of Morocco's Royal Armed Forces, Mohamed Berrid, met Daniel Driscoll, U.S. Secretary of the Army, in Rabat on Friday. The high-level talks followed directives from King Mohammed VI, supreme commander and chief of staff of the Royal Armed Forces. The meeting occurred during the 22nd edition of the African Lion exercise.
Discussions covered key aspects of military partnership between Morocco and the United States. Officials described the cooperation as strong and evolving, driven by shared strategic interests. Joint activities continue to expand, with African Lion serving as the flagship example. This year's exercise marks the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence.
Both sides praised the quality of ties between the Royal Armed Forces and U.S. counterparts. Strategic dialogue remains constant alongside growing joint operations. The partnership emphasizes innovation in defense capabilities.
The delegations later visited the Multinational Joint Operations Center. They observed ongoing maneuvers and reviewed new technologies deployed in the large-scale exercise.
