Leaked documents reveal alleged Israeli strategic arms deal with UAE
Leaked internal documents linked to Israeli defense company Elbit Systems have reportedly revealed details of advanced military equipment sales to the United Arab Emirates, highlighting the growing security cooperation between the two countries amid rising regional tensions.
According to an investigation by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, a group of hackers allegedly connected to Iranian intelligence accessed the personal email account of a senior company official and published sensitive documents online. The leaked material reportedly contains confidential communications related to the supply of advanced unmanned aircraft and precision-guided weapons.
The documents indicate that the UAE requested the rapid delivery of six advanced Hermes 900 drones, a system used for intelligence, surveillance, and operational missions. The reported agreement also included a broader plan to expand the fleet to 45 aircraft as part of 15 complete systems, with an estimated value of around $1.3 billion.
The alleged deal comes amid heightened security concerns in the Middle East, particularly during the ongoing tensions involving Iran. The leaked information sheds light on the deepening strategic ties between Israel and the UAE, which have expanded since the normalization of relations between the two countries.
The documents also reportedly mention an additional weapons project known as “Yasmin 3,” involving the production of thousands of precision-guided bomb kits within a limited timeframe. The project reflects the increasing demand for advanced military capabilities in response to regional security challenges.
Elbit Systems responded to the report by stating that it does not comment on commercial information related to its customers. The company added that the published data does not represent its actual business activities, while it did not deny having commercial relations with the UAE.
The reported disclosures have raised questions about the scale of defense cooperation between Israel and the UAE and highlight the growing role of advanced military technology in regional strategic partnerships.
