Morocco’s U-17 national team is set to clash with Brazil in the quarterfinals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup on Friday at Pitch Seven in Doha. Kick-off is scheduled for 16:45 GMT+1. This marks a historic opportunity for Morocco, aiming to advance to the semifinals for the first time in the tournament’s history, while Brazil looks to extend its legacy as five-time champions.

Morocco’s road to the quarterfinals

The Atlas Cubs endured a turbulent group stage, suffering heavy defeats against Portugal and Japan but delivering a record-breaking 16–0 victory over New Caledonia. Advancing to the Round of 32, Morocco faced the United States in a tense encounter that ended in a 1–1 draw, with the North Africans prevailing in a penalty shootout.

In the Round of 16, Morocco met Mali in a rematch of the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations final. This time, Morocco emerged victorious with a 3–2 win, thanks to goals from Ziyad Baha and Ismail El Aoud. However, defender Ilyas Hadaoui will miss the quarterfinal after receiving two yellow cards.
