Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India has conveyed warm Eid Al-Adha greetings to King Mohammed VI, highlighting the enduring friendship and growing economic ties between India and Morocco.

In a statement released by the Indian embassy in Morocco, Prime Minister Modi underscored the universal values of sacrifice, compassion, and brotherhood that Eid Al-Adha represents. His message emphasized the importance of the festival to India's Muslim population and its role in the nation's diverse cultural landscape.

Modi's personal note to King Mohammed VI celebrated the fervor with which millions of Indians observe Eid Al-Adha, reflecting India's commitment to pluralism and unity. This sentiment echoes the deep respect and mutual understanding that characterize the relationship between the two countries.

The embassy's statement also noted Modi's wishes for the continued health and well-being of King Mohammed VI, reaffirming the warm bilateral ties between India and Morocco. These ties have notably strengthened since King Mohammed VI's landmark visit to India in November 2015, a significant milestone in the diplomatic history of the two nations.

Economic relations between India and Morocco have flourished in recent years. Morocco's impressive economic growth, marked by a tripling of its GDP and a sixfold increase in industrial exports since 1999, has made it a key partner for India. Manufactured goods now constitute a significant portion of Moroccan exports.

Trade data from 2021 highlights the robust economic exchange between the two countries. India exported $931 million worth of goods to Morocco, including broadcasting equipment, cars, and synthetic filament yarn. In turn, Moroccan exports to India amounted to $2.1 billion, with phosphoric acid and chemical fertilizers being major items.

The annual growth rate of Indian exports to Morocco has been a remarkable 13.1% over the past 26 years, illustrating the expanding commercial ties. Similarly, Moroccan exports to India have grown at a rate of 7.7% over the same period, underscoring the mutual economic benefits of this bilateral relationship.

Prime Minister Modi’s Eid Al-Adha greetings to King Mohammed VI not only reinforce the cultural bonds between India and Morocco but also highlight the thriving bilateral partnership that continues to grow stronger with each passing year.
