Emergency plan activated at Mohammed V hospital in Safi after severe weather
An emergency response plan has been activated at Mohammed V Hospital in Safi following exceptional stormy rainfall that struck the province on Sunday. The measure was taken to ensure rapid and effective medical care for people injured during the severe weather event.
According to hospital management, the plan includes the full mobilization of medical, nursing, and administrative staff, along with the deployment of necessary human and logistical resources. Around 50 hospital beds were immediately made available for injured patients, with the possibility of expanding capacity to other departments if required.
The hospital confirmed that all essential medical equipment is operational, including imaging devices such as scanners, radiology and ultrasound units, as well as laboratory facilities. No shortages in medical supplies or intervention capacity have been reported.
Emergency services received dozens of patients, some of whom required intensive care, while others were treated for severe hypothermia. Health officials indicated that most patients are in stable condition, with several already discharged, reflecting the effectiveness of the hospital’s preparedness and response.
Authorities stressed that the situation remains under control thanks to the anticipation measures and the strong coordination of healthcare teams.
