New Rabat Ryad train station officially opens to the public
The new Rabat Ryad train station officially opened its doors on Monday, marking a major upgrade to the Moroccan capital’s railway network. The announcement was made by the National Railways Office (ONCF) on its official social media page.
Strategically located in the Hay Ryad neighborhood near the Moulay Abdellah sports complex, the station spans 35,000 square meters and is designed as a “bridge station,” connecting major city arteries, including Annakhil Avenue and Hassan II Avenue. Its opening aims to relieve congestion at Rabat Ville and Rabat Agdal stations, improve service to the northern districts, and enhance the efficiency of both urban and intercity rail transport.
Passengers can now purchase tickets to and from Rabat Ryad via the ONCF website. The station’s modern architecture and international design standards reflect the city’s rapid urban development and growing rail traffic, offering a functional and future-ready transit hub for commuters and travelers.
