Ukrainian drone strike hits Wildberries logistics hub in Russia
A Ukrainian drone strike has hit a logistics facility operated by Russian e-commerce giant Wildberries in the Vladimir region, marking the latest in a series of attacks targeting the company's infrastructure.
According to Wildberries and regional authorities, the overnight strike triggered a fire at the warehouse, prompting the evacuation of employees. One person was reported injured.
The incident occurred approximately 180 kilometers east of Moscow, underscoring the continued reach of long-range drone operations linked to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Fire breaks out after warehouse attack
Wildberries said a fire erupted at the logistics site following the attack but confirmed that staff members were safely evacuated.
Regional governor Alexander Avdeyev stated that drones struck the warehouse in the Sobinsky district, causing material damage and injuring a young man.
Emergency services responded to contain the fire, while local authorities began assessing the extent of the damage.
Part of a broader pattern of strikes
The latest incident follows several reported drone attacks on Wildberries facilities across Russia since mid-July, highlighting the growing exposure of commercial infrastructure to the conflict.
Although military installations and energy facilities have frequently been targeted during the war, logistics centers and other commercial assets have increasingly appeared among reported strike locations.
Wildberries is Russia's largest online retailer, operating an extensive distribution network that plays a key role in the country's e-commerce sector.
Commercial infrastructure increasingly affected
The attack illustrates how the conflict continues to extend beyond traditional military objectives, affecting transportation, logistics and supply chain operations.
While the full operational impact of the latest strike has not been disclosed, repeated attacks on logistics infrastructure could create disruptions to distribution networks and increase operational costs for businesses.
As hostilities continue, commercial facilities across parts of Russia remain vulnerable to drone attacks, reflecting the expanding geographical scope of the conflict.
