Ukraine and Russia: New Exchange of 103 Prisoners from Each Side

Kyiv and Moscow conducted a new prisoner exchange on Wednesday, involving 103 individuals from each side. While discussions aimed at ending the conflict remain stalled, these humanitarian operations are one of the few tangible results of contacts between the two countries.

206 Prisoners Involved in the Operation

On Wednesday, August 19, Russia and Ukraine carried out another prisoner exchange. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 103 individuals were released by each side, bringing the total number of military personnel involved in this operation to 206.

Ukrainian authorities also confirmed the exchange, which was presented as a new step in efforts to secure the return of military personnel detained during various phases of the conflict.

After their release, prisoners are to receive medical and psychological care before being reunited with their families. These steps are particularly important after months of captivity and in some cases, difficult detention conditions.

A Rare Channel of Dialogue between Kyiv and Moscow
