Société Générale Launches "Solar Pack" Offer in Africa

In an innovative initiative, Société Générale is spearheading the energy transition in Africa with the launch of its flagship offer, the "Solar Pack." Through this offering, the banking group provides a turnkey solution to businesses and institutions in Africa to facilitate the installation of photovoltaic panels, addressing their economic and environmental challenges. From identifying needs to analyzing and estimating project feasibility, connecting with local reference partners, and providing tailored financing solutions (loans/leasing), clients are supported at every stage of their project development. According to sources, the "Solar Pack" offer is initially rolled out in Morocco and Senegal.

"In line with Société Générale's ambition, the 'Solar Pack' offer responds responsibly and innovatively to the needs of our Corporate and Institutional clients on the African continent, who seek concrete support in their environmental and energy challenges. Thanks to the expertise of trusted partners, we advise our clients in implementing their energy transition projects," said Philippe Dubois, Corporate Director within Société Générale's International Banking Networks, Africa, Mediterranean Basin & Overseas. According to the group, with this offer, Corporate and Institutional clients can access a clean and sustainable energy source that contributes to decarbonization by reducing greenhouse gas emissions. They can also achieve medium and long-term savings on electricity expenses and energy bills, given that the cost of solar energy has become competitive.

"This offer aims to support the development of economic and social actors and thus contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, by providing reliable access to energy, especially for SMEs and industries that heavily rely on energy for their activities. It also aims for a positive social impact, helping to sustain the operation of public service infrastructure, such as healthcare or education," the group emphasizes.

With its "Solar Pack" offering, Société Générale demonstrates its commitment to driving sustainable development and fostering green initiatives in Africa, paving the way for a cleaner and more energy-efficient future for the continent's businesses and institutions.
