Morocco strengthens diplomatic influence with Resolution 2797 and Medays Forum

In a recent interview on Walaw TV’s program Meeting with Walaw, Ramadan Abu Jazar, director of the Brussels International Center for Research and Human Rights (BIC), provided an in-depth analysis of Morocco’s evolving diplomacy and the rising influence of the Medays Forum, now in its 17th edition in Tangier.

According to Abu Jazar, Morocco’s international achievements are now “undeniable” and widely recognized by diplomatic actors worldwide. He highlighted United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797 as a milestone that reflects the Kingdom’s strategic diplomatic efforts over many years. “This is not a sudden turning point, but the logical result of long-term, strategic work,” he said.

Abu Jazar emphasized Morocco’s ability to act intelligently on both bilateral and multilateral levels, building consensus and anticipating geopolitical trends. He described the Medays Forum as more than a regional event: “Medays has become an international brand, a recognized space for strategic discussion, comparable today to major global forums.”

The forum continues to maintain a strong focus on the Palestinian issue, with Morocco playing a consistent role through HM King Mohammed VI’s leadership as President of the Al-Quds Committee. Abu Jazar also pointed out the Kingdom’s achievements in peace processes across Africa, digital transformation, and strategic mediation, marking Morocco as a credible and influential player on the global stage.

The high-level attendance at the forum underscores its international stature, with Abu Jazar noting that Medays is now “on par with Davos” as a destination for world leaders and decision-makers. He concluded by commending the Amadeus Institute and its president Brahim Fassi Fihri for elevating the forum to the level of major international centers for strategic reflection.
