In a significant move to bolster regional security, Morocco and the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) convened the inaugural session of the High-level Strategic Dialogue in New York. This meeting, held alongside the United Nations General Assembly, underscores Morocco's dedication to enhancing multilateral counter-terrorism efforts, particularly within Africa.

Co-chaired by Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, and UNOCT's Under-Secretary-General, Vladimir Voronkov, the dialogue represents a crucial initiative in the joint fight against terrorism. It marks a pivotal step in strengthening the strategic partnership between Morocco and the UN, emphasizing support for African nations in combating terrorism and violent extremism.

Minister Bourita commended UNOCT's unwavering efforts to assist African Member States and reaffirmed Morocco's commitment to fostering strategic, multilateral cooperation aligned with United Nations principles and resolutions. This collaboration aims to enhance Africa's capacity to address emerging security challenges.

Morocco and UNOCT are dedicated to exploring innovative partnerships with regional and international stakeholders to tackle new security threats, further solidifying the Kingdom's role as a key player in promoting peace and security across the continent.
