France and Morocco's strong agricultural partnership at Salon de l'Agriculture 2025
On the morning of February 22, 2025, French President Emmanuel Macron and Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch officially inaugurated the International Agricultural Show (SIA) in Paris. This year, Morocco was invited as the honored guest country, marking a significant moment in the ongoing special relationship between the two nations.
During the ceremony, Macron and Akhannouch jointly cut the ribbon to symbolize the opening of the event, where Morocco was represented by a prominent delegation, including Minister of Agriculture Ahmed El Bouari, Moroccan Ambassador to France Samira Sitail, and numerous key figures from Morocco’s agricultural sector.
The theme of the 2025 edition of the SIA, running from February 22 to March 2, highlights the strong Franco-Moroccan partnership, with Morocco showcasing its leadership in sustainable, smart agriculture. The 476 m² Moroccan pavilion serves as a testament to the country’s rich agricultural diversity. The event is expected to draw over 600,000 visitors and will feature 4,000 animals and 1,000 exhibitors across 16 hectares of exhibition space.
The honor given to Morocco at SIA also reflects the broader, complementary relationship between the two nations. This partnership extends beyond trade, addressing major agricultural challenges such as food security, water resource management, and agricultural innovation. In a reciprocal gesture, France will be the honored guest at the International Agricultural Show (SIAM) in Meknès, Morocco, in April 2025.
