Top-valued football players revealed after the 2026 World Cup
The conclusion of the 2026 FIFA World Cup has brought a major update to the market values of some of the world's leading footballers, with several players seeing their valuations rise following their performances at the tournament.
According to updated figures from Transfermarkt, 99 players who featured prominently at the 2026 World Cup were reassessed after the competition. Spain's Lamine Yamal and Norway's Erling Haaland emerged as the two most valuable players, with each receiving a market valuation of around €220 million.
Both players reportedly saw their valuations increase by €20 million during the tournament, placing them at the top of the global ranking.
Haaland shines with Norway
Erling Haaland enjoyed an impressive World Cup campaign with Norway, helping his national team reach the quarter-finals before being eliminated by England in a 2-1 defeat.
The prolific striker scored seven goals and provided one assist in five matches, further strengthening his reputation as one of the world's most dangerous forwards.
His international record also continued to grow, with the Norwegian striker reaching 62 goals in 52 appearances for his country, underlining his exceptional scoring record at international level.
Yamal continues to make history
Lamine Yamal's tournament statistics were less spectacular in terms of goals, as the Spanish teenager scored once and registered one assist in eight appearances.
However, his technical ability, maturity, and achievements at a remarkably young age helped push his market value to a record level.
At just 19 years old, Yamal has already won major international honors, including the World Cup and the European Championship. Transfermarkt's market value coordinator, Tobias Kröger, described him as one of the world's biggest talents and highlighted the scale of his achievements at such a young age.
Mbappé remains among the elite
France captain Kylian Mbappé ranked third with a market value of €200 million.
The forward had an outstanding tournament, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists to win the World Cup Golden Boot. His market value also increased by €20 million.
However, France's defeat to Spain prevented Mbappé from overtaking Yamal and Haaland at the top of the rankings.
New names enter the €100 million club
The latest market update also saw several players reach or surpass the €100 million mark.
Spain's Pau Cubarsí was valued at €100 million, while Argentina's Enzo Fernández also reached the same figure. England's Elliot Anderson and Morgan Rogers saw their valuations rise to €110 million each.
These increases reflect the growing influence of young players and emerging stars on the international football market.
The 2026 World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, was the first edition to feature 48 national teams. Spain ultimately lifted the trophy after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final, with Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal in the 106th minute.
The latest Transfermarkt valuations underline how performances at the world's biggest football tournament can significantly influence the perceived value of players, potentially shaping future transfer negotiations and the global football market.
