Strategic partnership between Morocco and Jordan for industrial development
On Wednesday, the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG) of Morocco and the Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Madaba, Jordan. This MoU aims to foster a strategic partnership for developing the industrial sectors of both countries and enhancing their economic integration.
The agreement was signed by Khalid Safir, the Director General of CDG, and Omar Juwaid, the Director General of JIEC. It focuses on various areas of collaboration, including institutional development, investment, training, technology, corporate governance, and decision-making processes. The MoU also encourages the exchange of knowledge and expertise, as well as conducting joint studies on industrial and development projects.
Both organizations will organize events, workshops, and meetings to promote coordination and exchange ideas. Additionally, the agreement calls for the development of human resources through expertise exchange, field visits, and skills enhancement. Another key focus is digital transformation to align with the industrial revolution's evolving needs and improve occupational health and safety within industrial zones.
In his speech, Safir emphasized that the agreement marks the practical realization of a strong partnership, founded on the deep bonds between the two nations. He highlighted CDG's significant role in Morocco's economic development, particularly in major projects that have created thousands of jobs and bolstered key industries like automotive and aerospace.
JIEC's Director General noted the historical ties between the countries and Morocco's strategic importance as a gateway to Europe and Africa. He highlighted the company’s successful track record in developing industrial cities in Jordan, which have facilitated significant economic development.
This MoU reflects a shared commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation, fostering economic growth, and promoting sustainable development in both nations.
