Erdogan warns Israel against undermining US–Iran diplomatic efforts

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned that Middle East peace efforts risk failing without the involvement and support of regional powers, urging that Israel must not be allowed to derail diplomatic progress between the United States and Iran.

Speaking in Istanbul alongside Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Erdogan emphasized that any sustainable resolution in the region must be grounded in the will and cooperation of surrounding countries.

Call for regional ownership of peace efforts

Erdogan said that lasting stability in the Middle East cannot be achieved through external initiatives alone, stressing that regional actors must play a central role in shaping outcomes.

He warned that excluding or bypassing regional stakeholders would undermine the durability of any agreement, particularly in the context of ongoing efforts involving Washington and Tehran.
