Spanish Hospitality Group Hotusa Expands Footprint in Casablanca with Three New Hotels

Spanish hospitality group Hotusa has announced a strategic expansion into Morocco's growing tourism sector, with plans to open three new hotels in Casablanca, the country's financial capital. This move marks Hotusa's debut in the North African market and aligns with the growing interest from hospitality companies looking to establish a presence in Morocco ahead of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which the country will co-host with Spain and Portugal.

Eurostars Hotel Company, Hotusa's renowned hotel chain, will oversee the construction and management of these three new hotels, expected to open between 2024 and 2025. Designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers, these hotels, under the Eurostars and Exe brands, will offer a unique blend of luxury and comfort, elevating Casablanca's hospitality scene.

The first of the three, Eurostars Casa Anfa, is set to open in the fall of 2024, bringing a new level of luxury and sophistication to the city. Following closely, Eurostars Californie will open its doors in late 2024. The third hotel, Exe Zerktouni, is slated for a mid-2025 launch. Together, these new establishments will add 251 rooms to Casablanca's growing hospitality market.

Amancio López, Hotusa's President, expressed his excitement about the company's expansion into Morocco, highlighting the importance of the region as the twentieth destination for Eurostars Hotel Company. "These openings in Casablanca represent the initial phase of our expansion plan in North Africa, a region that is strategically significant to us, alongside Western Europe, the United States, and Latin America," López said, reflecting the company's ambitious growth strategy.

In recent months, several major hotel chains have announced plans to enter or strengthen their presence in Morocco, aiming to take advantage of the country's expected tourism boom in the lead-up to the 2030 FIFA World Cup. After attracting 14.5 million visitors in 2023, Morocco is targeting 17 million tourists by 2026 and an impressive 26 million by 2030, cementing its reputation as a top global destination.
