Royal Air Maroc expands global network with new nonstop routes in 2026
Royal Air Maroc is preparing a major expansion of its international network in 2026 as part of its strategy to position Casablanca as a global aviation hub and reinforce Morocco’s role as a crossroads between continents. Starting next year, the national carrier will introduce a new wave of direct routes linking Casablanca to destinations across Europe, Africa, and the Americas, while also increasing frequencies on a number of long haul services. The airline said the move is intended to boost national air connectivity, support tourism and business travel, and enhance the overall passenger experience through broader choice and upgraded onboard products.
Royal Air Maroc Chief Executive Officer Hamid Addou said the new routes mark a key stage in the company’s development plan, following a fleet expansion that has seen around ten additional aircraft delivered since 2023. Over the past two years, the airline has also raised frequencies on several strategic destinations and opened nearly twenty international routes, laying the groundwork for the next phase of growth. In 2026, the carrier plans to add at least ten more destinations, further tightening links between Morocco and major global cities.
The expansion strategy focuses on reinforcing the medium haul network while extending long haul connectivity, backed by the progressive arrival of new aircraft. After earlier announcements of routes from Casablanca to Saint Petersburg, due to launch in January 2026, and to Los Angeles, scheduled for June 2026, Royal Air Maroc will open five additional routes from Casablanca in April 2026. These services will connect the Moroccan hub to Pointe Noire in the Republic of Congo, Tripoli in Libya, Beirut in Lebanon, and the Spanish cities of Bilbao and Alicante.
The airline will further consolidate its presence in Spain with a new Casablanca Palma route in June 2026, complementing an existing Spanish network that already serves Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Valencia, and Seville. Italy will also benefit from added capacity through the launch of a direct Casablanca Verona link from 20 June 2026, which will join current services to Rome, Milan, Bologna, Naples, Catania, Turin, and Venice. In France, Royal Air Maroc plans to extend its footprint with a new Casablanca Lille route, scheduled to start in July 2026.
Beyond new destinations, the airline intends to increase frequencies on several long haul routes, including São Paulo, Miami, Washington, and Dubai, as part of efforts to secure better connectivity for both business and leisure travellers. These enhancements will be supported by additional widebody aircraft equipped with upgraded cabins, improved comfort features, and enhanced onboard connectivity in line with international standards. Tickets for the new services are due to go on sale from 15 December through the airline’s website, call centres, sales offices, and partner travel agencies.
Through this latest round of expansion, Royal Air Maroc aims to solidify Casablanca’s status as a competitive hub for traffic between Europe, Africa, the Americas, and beyond. The company frames the initiative as a contribution to Morocco’s broader economic and tourism ambitions, while signalling a continued focus on improving service quality and passenger satisfaction. For industry observers and travellers alike, the 2026 program outlines one of the airline’s most ambitious network growth plans in recent years.
