Cold weather relief operation supports over 14,000 families in Fes-Meknes

More than 14,000 families in the Fes-Meknes region are benefiting from the “Cold Weather Relief” operation led by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, in line with Royal High Instructions aimed at assisting populations affected by severe winter conditions.

The distribution campaign was launched on Sunday in several rural localities within the province of Sefrou, where families received essential food supplies and warm blankets. These efforts are designed to alleviate the impact of sharply falling temperatures in mountainous and remote areas.

In the province of Sefrou alone, approximately 2,300 families across multiple municipalities have been included in the program. Field operations are being carried out under the supervision of local authorities, with logistical and human support provided by specialized teams mobilized by the Foundation, including personnel from the Royal Armed Forces’ social services.

According to data released by the Foundation, nearly 30,000 families nationwide have already benefited from the initiative, which spans dozens of provinces and hundreds of rural communities. The operation is expected to continue in the coming days, reaching additional areas in the Fes-Meknes region and beyond.

Beneficiaries have expressed their gratitude for the initiative, highlighting the importance of solidarity measures during harsh winter conditions. The program reflects a coordinated national effort involving multiple institutions to support vulnerable populations facing extreme weather challenges.
