Hammouchi announces exceptional bonus for Morocco’s national security officers

Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST), has approved an exceptional financial bonus for all members of Morocco’s national police force. According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), the bonus covers personnel across all central units and regional commands throughout the country.

The initiative forms part of DGSN’s broader financial and professional incentive system aimed at encouraging officers to maintain their commitment and intensify their efforts in safeguarding citizens and ensuring public order. The department underscored that this measure expresses institutional recognition of the continued dedication and sacrifices made by security officers in performing their duties.

The DGSN statement added that these financial incentives are part of a wider framework of social and professional reforms intended to enhance the working environment of police personnel. They complement efforts to strengthen social benefits and professional motivation within the institution.

In its latest annual report, DGSN highlighted a series of measures taken to reinforce operational capabilities and modernize crime-fighting structures under its updated security strategy. The agency also pointed to a cooperation agreement with the National Authority for Integrity and the DGSN-DGST to intensify anti-corruption efforts and promote transparency in internal operations.

The report revealed that police officers attended more than 4,000 training sessions focused on human rights and professional ethics, underlining DGSN’s emphasis on humanizing detention conditions and consolidating a culture of rights protection within its ranks.

Statistical data showed notable progress in 2025, including a 10% overall drop in violent crime. Threatened thefts declined by 24%, thefts with violence by 6%, and burglaries by approximately 12%. The clearance rate for recorded crimes reached 95%, setting a new benchmark for operational effectiveness across the security network.
