Nvidia chief Jensen Huang rejects calls for new AI safety laws

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has pushed back against calls for additional legislation to regulate artificial intelligence, arguing that market forces can encourage companies to make their AI systems safer without necessarily adding new regulatory requirements.

Speaking at a Salesforce event, Huang said the rapid development of artificial intelligence does not have to come at the expense of safety. In a discussion with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, he argued that companies can adjust the pace of product development according to market conditions and user acceptance, allowing technologies to evolve while addressing safety concerns.
