Morocco makes integrity a strategic national choice, says Benalilou
Morocco has made integrity a strategic national choice and a cornerstone of its development vision under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, said Mohamed Benalilou, President of the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and the Fight against Corruption.
Speaking in Doha during the 11th Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, Benalilou stressed that integrity is essential for building public trust, improving the effectiveness of public policies, and ensuring fair and equitable access to rights and public services.
He highlighted that Morocco’s constitutional and institutional reforms have enabled the country to establish a comprehensive national system to prevent and combat corruption. This framework, he explained, promotes integrity and accountability as permanent national principles, reinforcing democratic governance, sustainable development and human rights.
Benalilou also underlined Morocco’s strong commitment to international anti-corruption efforts, notably through its active participation in global mechanisms and the transparent publication of evaluation reports related to the UN Convention. This approach, he said, reflects the country’s credibility and openness on the international stage.
At the national level, international standards have served as a key reference in shaping Morocco’s anti-corruption strategy. A new generation of reforms is currently being prepared, focusing on measurable impact, prevention, and adaptation to emerging risks linked to digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
