Since earning the World Athletics label in 2020, the Marrakech International Marathon has consistently ranked among the top global marathons. Its reputation as a qualifying event for the World Championships and the Olympic Games continues to attract elite athletes and running enthusiasts from around the world.

Beyond the race: A community affair

This year’s marathon extended its impact beyond the competitive races, engaging the local community through various initiatives. A children’s race added a heartwarming touch to the event, while the “Welcome Race” on January 25 allowed participants and their supporters to explore Marrakech’s iconic landmarks.

The inclusion of a “Car-Free Day” highlighted the city’s commitment to sustainability and road safety, further enhancing the event’s appeal.

The 35th Marrakech International Marathon not only celebrated athletic excellence but also fostered cultural exchange and community engagement. With its unique blend of competition, tradition, and innovation, the event continues to shine as a beacon of global sportsmanship in the heart of Morocco.
