Elderly woman evacuated by helicopter to Tahanaout hospital in Al Haouz
An elderly woman was urgently evacuated on Friday to the provincial hospital of Mohammed VI in Tahanaout, in the Moroccan province of Al Haouz, after her health condition became critical.
According to local authorities, the medical evacuation was carried out in coordination with several stakeholders using a helicopter operated by the Royal Gendarmerie. The patient, in her sixties, was transported from the remote village of Tizgui, located in the commune of Ouirgane, an area known for its difficult access, especially during harsh weather conditions.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the woman received appropriate medical care. Health officials confirmed that her condition has stabilized and that she is currently under close medical supervision.
This emergency operation is part of ongoing efforts by local and national authorities to ensure access to healthcare for residents of mountainous and rural areas, particularly during periods of extreme cold. The initiative aligns with the provincial emergency plan aimed at reducing the impact of severe winter conditions on vulnerable populations, in accordance with national guidelines.
