Royal Air Maroc Aims to Champion African Identity

Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco's national airline, is doubling down on its pledge to embody the essence of African identity and aspiration, according to a company spokesperson.

Addressing attendees at the 4th Lagos Biennial's Gala Dinner in Nigeria on Sunday, RAM's regional representative, Ahmed Anouar Boussouf, conveyed the airline's expansive vision on behalf of RAM CEO Abdelhamid Addou. Boussouf articulated RAM's commitment to serving as a true ambassador of Africa, encapsulated by its rallying cry, "#DreamAfrica #MeetMorocco."

In reaffirming RAM's mission, Boussouf emphasized the airline's determination not only to link Morocco with the African continent but, more significantly, to bridge Africa with the global community. This endeavor, he noted, is geared towards spotlighting Africa's boundless cultural richness and burgeoning talents, now gaining international acclaim.

Boussouf pointed to RAM's strategic investments in fostering major African cultural endeavors spanning cinema, arts, and beyond. "Cultural prominence and the nurturing of talent play pivotal roles in shaping a contemporary, vibrant continental identity, diverging from the stereotypes we often encounter," Boussouf added.

Echoing these sentiments, Morocco's ambassador to Nigeria, Moha Ou Ali Tagma, highlighted RAM's pivotal contribution to Morocco's economic advancement and the enhancement of intracontinental and global connectivity. "The government's steadfast commitment to incremental progress toward ideals has laid robust foundations for Morocco's prosperity and development," Tagma remarked.

In recent years, RAM has intensified its efforts to position itself as a premier African carrier. The airline has rolled out promotional initiatives such as #DimaAfrica and #MeetMorocco to bolster its pan-African footprint and advance its goal of becoming a foremost player in the African aviation landscape.
