ONCF Announces Special Transport Plan for Aïd Al-Fitr

The Office national des chemins de fer (ONCF) has announced the implementation of a special transport plan for Aïd Al-Fitr from Friday, April 5th to Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, with the scheduling of additional trains, up to 240 trains/day.

This transportation plan, which comes in anticipation of the increased number of travelers during this period and to ensure the movement of customers under the best conditions of comfort and safety, includes the scheduling of additional trains, up to 240 trains/day with a reinforcement on the most requested destinations, as stated by the ONCF in a press release.

For Al Boraq, the ONCF plans to schedule an hourly frequency covering the entire day to connect the city of Tangier to Kenitra, Rabat, and Casablanca from 7am to 10pm (during peak days) and to increase the capacity of seats offered during the most requested slots, specified the same source.

For Al Atlas, the ONCF will increase seat capacities and schedule additional trains on the main axes of the railway network: Marrakech-Casablanca-Fes, Oujda, Nador, Khouribga, Safi.

This plan also includes strengthening the teams responsible for welcoming and guiding passengers at stations and on trains, as well as the technical teams that will be mobilized 24/7 to supervise the flow of train traffic, detailed the press release.

To better plan trips during this period of high influx, the ONCF recommends to its customers to anticipate ticket purchases and to buy round-trip tickets to avoid queues at the station and ensure a seat on trains.

Ticket purchases are possible through various sales channels: at stations at ticket counters or through Distributeurs Automatiques de Tickets (DAT), online on the website www.oncf-voyages.ma, or through partner agencies for local sales (Cash Plus, Barid Cash, and Tasshilat).

On the day of Aïd, the number of trains will be reduced, so travelers are invited to consult train schedules for this entire period through the website: www.oncf-voyages.ma, the Customer Relations Center: 2255 (local communication cost), the ONCF TRAFIC app to stay informed about real-time traffic situations, and the M'ONCF chatbot at 06 67 65 22 55.
