India becomes first official partner of Russian Energy Week 2026
India is set to become the first official partner in the history of Russian Energy Week, highlighting the growing strategic relationship between Moscow and New Delhi in the energy sector.
The Indian Oil Industry Federation, representing India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, will host a dedicated pavilion during the international forum. The initiative will showcase existing and planned energy projects while seeking to encourage greater investment and cooperation between companies from the two countries.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said India remains one of Russia’s key partners in the energy industry. Moscow is seeking to attract additional Indian investment in its oil and gas sector while exploring opportunities to expand distribution networks in India with the participation of Russian companies.
The Indian pavilion will feature projects from eight major Indian oil companies, offering an overview of current cooperation as well as potential future ventures in the energy sector.
Russian officials have emphasized that cooperation between the two countries extends beyond oil and gas. Moscow and New Delhi also coordinate within BRICS and other international groupings, reflecting their broader strategic partnership and shared interest in strengthening economic ties.
Russian Energy Week 2026 is scheduled to take place in Moscow from October 14 to 16. The event is expected to provide a platform for discussions on energy markets, investment, technology and international cooperation.
The growing involvement of India in the forum reflects the importance of the country as a major energy partner for Russia and highlights the expanding economic relationship between the two emerging powers.
