Moroccan crime series k1 set for broadcast on 2m

2M will launch a new Moroccan crime series titled “K1” starting March 31, 2026, with weekly episodes airing every Tuesday at 21:45. The production places viewers inside high risk police operations and complex criminal investigations across Morocco.

The series runs for eight episodes of 52 minutes each. It combines crime investigation, psychological tension, and personal drama, with filming locations spanning several regions of the country.

Each episode follows a new case while gradually uncovering broader criminal networks operating at a national scale. The narrative focuses on a specialized judicial police unit led by Commissioner Aziz Lamrani, tasked with handling sensitive cases such as murder, money laundering, and drug trafficking.

The project reflects 2M’s strategy to expand into new genres and raise production standards in Moroccan television. The series adopts storytelling and visual techniques aligned with international crime thrillers while remaining grounded in local realities.

Production involved close collaboration with the General Directorate of National Security, which provided technical guidance, training for actors, access to facilities, and logistical support to ensure accurate representation of police procedures.

Beyond investigations, the series explores the personal lives of its characters, addressing themes such as professional pressure, trauma, ethical dilemmas, and the pursuit of justice.

“K1” is produced by K Films under the leadership of Khadija Alami and Noureddine Lakhmari, who also serve as showrunners. Direction is shared between Lakhmari, Yasmine Benkirane, and Hicham Ayouch. The cast includes established Moroccan actors alongside emerging talent.

The series will be available in both original and French versions, aiming to reach a wider audience, including Moroccan viewers abroad and francophone markets.
