Gaza death toll exceeds 1,500 since October 2025 ceasefire
More than 1,500 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since a ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, according to figures released by the territory’s Ministry of Health. The latest report records 1,501 deaths and 5,323 injuries during the period, highlighting the continuing human cost of the conflict despite the truce.
Health authorities reported three additional deaths over the previous 24 hours, including two people killed during that period and another who died from injuries sustained in an earlier attack. Seventeen people were also reported injured, adding to the growing number of casualties recorded since the ceasefire began.
Israeli military operations have reportedly continued in Gaza despite the agreement, with local health officials documenting casualties from repeated attacks. The latest deadly incident was reported on Wednesday in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the territory. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle killed two Palestinians and injured a woman, who was taken to Nasser Medical Complex for treatment.
The incident comes amid continued military control over large areas of Gaza. According to the information provided, Israeli forces remain present in approximately 60% of the territory, underscoring the fragile conditions surrounding the ceasefire and the challenges facing residents attempting to resume their lives.
The deaths recorded since October 2025 represent only a portion of the overall toll from the war, which began following the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023. Gaza’s Ministry of Health reports that at least 74,392 Palestinians have been killed and 175,440 injured since the beginning of the conflict. The October 7 attack killed more than 1,200 people in Israel, according to figures cited in the report.
The latest figures illustrate the scale of the humanitarian consequences of the conflict and the continued loss of life after the ceasefire came into effect. Although the agreement was intended to halt the fighting, reports of further strikes and casualties indicate that the situation in Gaza remains precarious, with civilians continuing to face serious security and humanitarian challenges.
