Lynk & Co launches premium hybrid and electric vehicles in Morocco

Lynk & Co, the innovative auto brand backed by Geely, has officially expanded into the Moroccan market, unveiling a lineup of premium hybrid and electric vehicles. The launch marks a pivotal step in the company’s global growth strategy, aiming to redefine mobility in the region.

A new era for Moroccan mobility

During a high-profile event in Marrakech, Lynk & Co introduced four flagship models tailored to the Moroccan market. Leading the lineup is the 08 SUV, a luxurious plug-in hybrid offering over 200 kilometers of electric range, blending European design with cutting-edge technology.

The iconic 01 model, Lynk & Co's first release, returns with a refreshed 2025 design, maintaining its hybrid functionality and seamless connectivity. For environmentally conscious consumers, the fully electric 02 model underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability. Rounding out the offerings is the compact 06 SUV, designed for efficient urban navigation.

“With the 08 and the 01, we propose models that embody Scandinavian elegance, technological innovation, and mobility designed for a new generation of Moroccan drivers,” said Mehdi Bouhafs, General Manager of Lynk & Co Morocco. “Our ambition is clear: to offer much more than a car, but a premium and connected experience.”

Expanding presence in Morocco

Lynk & Co's entry into Morocco is managed by LK Automotive, a subsidiary of AEK Holding, which also handles Volvo Cars and Suzuki Motorcycles in the country. The collaboration was officially sealed during the TCR World Tour 2024 at the Moulay El Hassan circuit in Marrakech. LK Automotive plans to establish a robust distribution network and deliver top-tier after-sales services.

“This partnership aligns with our vision of offering sustainable mobility that is accessible to all, while guaranteeing an outstanding user experience,” said Abdelouahad El Kadiri, Chairman of LK Automotive.

Strong global performance

Globally, Lynk & Co recorded an impressive 30% increase in year-over-year sales in 2024, with 285,441 vehicles sold. Following Volvo’s exit from its ownership structure, Zeekr now holds 51% of the brand, while Geely Auto controls the remaining 49%.

The company’s innovative approach has set it apart in the automobile sector. Its subscription-based business model in Europe has proven highly successful, with 90-95% of retail revenue stemming from monthly subscriptions.

Lynk & Co’s focus extends beyond vehicle sales, positioning itself as a lifestyle brand where design, technology, and community intersect. By prioritizing connectivity, safety, and sustainable mobility, the company aims to transform Morocco’s automotive landscape, ushering in a future of eco-conscious and innovative transportation.
