Casablanca Fitness Chain CEO Faces Check Fraud Allegations Amid Ongoing Legal Challenges
Jonathan Harroch, CEO of Morocco's City Club gym franchise, appeared before the Ain Sebaa Court of First Instance in Casablanca on Wednesday to address allegations of issuing checks without sufficient funds. The hearing required Harroch's temporary transfer from Ain Sebaa prison, where he is currently detained.
The check fraud accusations were brought forward by one of Harroch's business associates, adding to the businessman's mounting legal difficulties. These new allegations follow a string of serious charges from October 2024, which included accusations of human trafficking, kidnapping, sex trafficking, harassment, and drug-related offenses, according to security sources.
The Casablanca Court of Appeals' investigative judge continues to conduct thorough interrogations with Harroch while he remains in custody. The case highlights ongoing scrutiny of the fitness chain executive's business practices and personal conduct.
The investigation remains active as authorities examine both the recent check fraud allegations and the previous criminal charges, marking a significant development in the oversight of corporate governance within Morocco's fitness industry sector.
