Botola: LNFP reschedules the draw for the 2025-26 season to saturday

The National Professional Football League (LNFP) has announced a change in the schedule for the draw of the 2025-26 Botola Pro Inwi season. Originally planned for Friday, the event has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 19, 2025. The delay is due to the scheduling of the African Women's Nations Cup quarterfinal match between Morocco and Mali, which is set to take place on Friday evening.

The draw, which will determine the fixtures for both the first and second divisions of Morocco's premier football competition, will now take place at 8:00 PM local time on Saturday. This shift has been confirmed in an official statement by the LNFP. As the football clubs gear up for the upcoming season, the timing of the draw is crucial for their preparation and finalization of player rosters.

In the meantime, many of the clubs are wrapping up their pre-season preparations in closed training camps, hoping to kick off the season with strong performances. Teams are eagerly awaiting the official schedule to know when they will begin their competitive campaigns.

Moreover, the LNFP also made an important announcement regarding the RS Berkane football club. The Moroccan champions will receive their trophy on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in a grand ceremony to be held at the Municipal Stadium of Berkane. This event marks the culmination of RS Berkane's successful season, where they secured the national title early, alongside their victory in the CAF Confederation Cup. Despite narrowly missing a historic treble in the Throne Cup final, where they lost to Olympic Safi in a penalty shootout, RS Berkane is still in contention for a third title when they face Pyramids FC in the African Super Cup.

While the focus shifts to the upcoming football season, the LNFP has also called on 16 clubs from the two top divisions to clarify their financial situations. These clubs, including five from the Botola Pro Inwi D1 and 11 from D2, are required to provide the necessary financial documents by March 31, 2025. Failure to do so could prevent them from registering new players for the season.

As Moroccan football continues to evolve, all eyes are now on the draw that will set the stage for what promises to be another thrilling season in the Botola Pro Inwi.
