Aya Gold and Silver reports high grade results at Zgounder mine
Aya Gold and Silver has announced new high grade silver intercepts from its Zgounder mine in Morocco. The results come from an ongoing drilling program focused on deeper exploration zones and areas surrounding current mining operations. The company said the findings reinforce the continuity of mineralization across the deposit.
Recent drilling has intersected additional zones of strong silver mineralization at depth and within the broader mine area. The results indicate that the ore body extends beyond previously defined limits, particularly around structural features such as fault zones. Exploration work is also targeting the western sections of the deposit where geological conditions suggest further potential.
Company leadership stated that the latest results confirm consistent silver grades both near the open pit and in deeper underground zones. Drilling near key geological contacts has continued to deliver high grade continuity, supporting plans to expand the resource base. Work at the 1825 meter level exploration drift is advancing as part of a broader strategy to prepare new drilling zones.
The Zgounder mine, located in Morocco’s Anti Atlas region, represents a central asset for Aya Gold and Silver’s production portfolio. It is one of the country’s major silver operations and continues to be a focus of sustained investment. The company is also pursuing a long term expansion plan aimed at increasing production capacity and extending mine life.
Aya Gold and Silver has outlined a broader investment strategy in Morocco that could reach 500 million dollars by 2030. The plan includes expanding silver output and introducing gold production for the first time, with initial gold output targeted for 2029. The company has already invested roughly 400 million dollars in the country as part of its long term growth strategy.
