Royal Air Maroc adds sixth Boeing 737-8 as fleet renewal accelerates
Royal Air Maroc has taken delivery of another Boeing 737-8, bringing the number of aircraft supplied by Aviation Capital Group (ACG) to six since the start of the airline’s latest fleet renewal push.
The delivery, announced by ACG on October 5, completes the lessor’s scheduled 2026 deliveries to the Moroccan flag carrier under its existing order portfolio. The six aircraft arrived over a six-month period, providing Royal Air Maroc with additional capacity as it works to modernize and expand its fleet.
Six aircraft delivered in six months
The latest Boeing 737-8 represents the sixth aircraft handed over by ACG to Royal Air Maroc within half a year. The pace of deliveries highlights the scale of the airline’s current fleet development program, which combines the replacement of older aircraft with preparations for future growth.
Carter A. White, ACG’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, described the completion of the deliveries as a significant achievement for the teams involved.
The new-generation 737-8s are expected to contribute to Royal Air Maroc’s operational flexibility as the carrier develops its network and manages growing demand for air travel from Morocco.
ACG expands its role in Royal Air Maroc’s fleet strategy
For Aviation Capital Group, the latest handover strengthens its relationship with Royal Air Maroc while marking the completion of its planned aircraft deliveries to the airline for 2026.
Founded in 1989, ACG operates in the commercial aircraft leasing sector and provides aircraft asset-management and financing solutions to aviation customers. The company is wholly owned by Japan-based Tokyo Century Corporation.
The six-aircraft delivery sequence also illustrates how leasing companies can support airlines during periods of fleet transformation, allowing carriers to introduce newer aircraft while managing the financial and operational requirements associated with fleet expansion.
Fleet modernization supports future growth
For Royal Air Maroc, the arrival of the sixth Boeing 737-8 adds another modern aircraft to a fleet undergoing significant development. The deliveries are part of a broader effort to increase capacity while progressively renewing the airline's aircraft portfolio.
With all six ACG aircraft now delivered, attention will turn to how Royal Air Maroc deploys the additional capacity across its network as the carrier continues to strengthen its position in the Moroccan and international aviation markets.
