Morocco launches nationwide digital platform for seamless business creation

Moroccan entrepreneurs can now create businesses online across the country, eliminating the burden of lengthy administrative procedures and marking a milestone in the nation’s digital transformation.

The Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC) has officially expanded its electronic business creation platform to a nationwide audience. This centralized digital interface streamlines all administrative procedures required for business registration, integrating key entities such as OMPIC, the Ministry of Justice, the General Secretariat of the Government, the General Directorate of Taxes (DGI), and the National Security Fund (CNSS).

A gradual rollout with growing success

Initially launched as a pilot project in Rabat in February 2023, the platform gradually expanded to major cities, including Casablanca, Marrakesh, Agadir, Tangier, Fez, Oujda, Laayoune, Beni Mellal, and Dakhla. As of March 2025, the platform is accessible nationwide, providing entrepreneurs with a seamless digital solution for business creation.

Since its inception, the platform has facilitated the creation of over 12,000 businesses electronically and registered over 2,400 professionals to use its services. Its success underscores Morocco's commitment to advancing its business environment and attracting both local and foreign investment.

A collaborative effort for economic growth

The project, overseen by OMPIC, is a collaborative endeavor involving several government institutions, including the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. This initiative is part of Morocco's broader strategy to simplify business processes, foster entrepreneurship, and accelerate economic development.

Legal reforms underpin the platform’s implementation, including three laws, two decrees, and two ministerial orders. These reforms define OMPIC’s role, establish procedures for electronic business registration, and set the framework for jurisdictional collaboration.

Aligning with Morocco’s Digital Strategy 2030

The digital platform aligns with Morocco's ambitious Digital Strategy 2030, which aims to transform the country into a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. By the end of the decade, the strategy seeks to foster the creation of 3,000 startups, train 100,000 individuals annually in digital skills, and generate 240,000 jobs within the sector. To support these objectives, Morocco has allocated MAD 11 billion for the 2024-2026 period.

Through the digitization of business creation processes, Morocco is not only enhancing its ease of doing business but also paving the way for sustainable economic growth and innovation.
