Lebanon reports 32 killed in 24 hours amid ongoing Israeli strikes
The Lebanon Ministry of Public Health reported that at least 32 people were killed within 24 hours as a result of continued Israeli airstrikes and military operations across the country, highlighting a further escalation in regional tensions.
According to official figures, the total death toll has now reached 2,759, with an additional 21 fatalities recorded in the latest update. Authorities also confirmed 74 new injuries, bringing the overall number of wounded to 8,512 since the beginning of the renewed violence.
The latest wave of hostilities follows the outbreak of a new phase of conflict between Hezbollah and the Israeli military, which began on March 2. Despite attempts to contain the escalation, fighting has continued across multiple areas.
A ceasefire was announced on April 17 and later extended until mid-May, but reports indicate that airstrikes and military actions have persisted in several regions of southern Lebanon. One of the latest attacks reportedly struck the village of Halloussiyé, where smoke was seen rising after an Israeli air raid.
The ongoing conflict has raised serious concerns among international observers about the humanitarian situation in Lebanon, particularly as civilian areas continue to be affected by the violence. Aid organizations have warned of increasing pressure on medical services and emergency response systems due to the rising number of casualties.
Analysts say the situation reflects the fragility of ceasefire agreements in the region and the broader instability affecting the Middle East, where localized conflicts often risk expanding into wider confrontations.
Diplomatic efforts to restore calm are continuing, but the situation on the ground remains volatile as both sides maintain military operations despite international calls for de-escalation.
