Narsa warns public over fake Sms and fraudulent websites impersonating the agency
The National Road Safety Agency (NARSA) has issued a public warning about the circulation of fraudulent SMS messages and fake websites falsely using its identity to trick citizens into paying alleged traffic fines.
The agency stated that these scams are designed to imitate official communication channels in order to deceive users into clicking malicious links or providing sensitive personal and banking information. Authorities stressed that such messages are not legitimate and do not originate from NARSA.
Officials urged the public to remain vigilant and avoid interacting with suspicious links received via SMS or online platforms. Citizens were also advised not to share personal data, banking details, or any confidential information in response to such messages.
NARSA further encouraged individuals who receive suspicious communications to report them immediately to the relevant authorities in order to help prevent the spread of online fraud and protect other users from similar scams.
Cybersecurity experts note that phishing campaigns targeting public institutions have increased globally in recent years, often exploiting trust in official agencies to carry out financial fraud. Such attacks typically rely on urgency and fear to pressure victims into acting quickly without verification.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to digital security awareness and reminded citizens that official services and payment procedures are only accessible through verified platforms and authorized channels.
Authorities continue to call for stronger public awareness as digital fraud techniques become increasingly sophisticated, particularly in sectors linked to public administration and transportation services.
