The Arab Parliament Commends the Leadership of King Mohammed VI in Supporting the Palestinian Cause

The Arab Parliament recently praised the pivotal role and consistent efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, in defending the Palestinian cause. This recognition was made during the second plenary session of the first session of the fourth legislature, held in Cairo. The resolution highlighted the significant contributions of the King and the Al-Quds Committee in supporting Palestine, particularly through the Bayt Mal Al Qods Acharif Agency. This agency's work focuses on preserving the identity and legal status of the Holy City, as well as supporting the resilience of its inhabitants.

The Arab Parliament reaffirmed that resolving the Palestinian issue is crucial for ensuring security and stability in the region and globally. Furthermore, the institution called for increased efforts to support Palestine's full membership in the United Nations and to implement the internationally agreed-upon two-state solution, with Jerusalem as the capital of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

In addition, the Parliament endorsed the collective efforts of both Arab and international communities calling for an immediate and urgent halt to the aggression in Gaza, advocating for a ceasefire and a peaceful resolution to the regional conflict based on existing international conventions.

The session also covered recent developments across various political, security, social, legal, and human rights sectors within the Arab world. It included discussions on the report from the first meeting of the Palestine Committee, reflecting the Arab Parliament’s ongoing commitment to the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, the session featured presentations from the heads of the Arab Parliament's four permanent committees: the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Politics, and National Security; the Committee on Economic and Financial Affairs; the Committee on Legislative, Legal, and Human Rights Affairs; and the Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Culture, Women, and Youth.

Morocco was represented at the session by Mohamed El Bakkouri, President of the Economic Committee, Khadija Hajoubi, Vice President of the Committee on Social Affairs, Education, Culture, Women, and Youth, and Mohamed Lahmouch, a member of the Political Committee.
