Stellantis Rennes plant to produce Dongfeng electric vehicle

The Rennes production site of Stellantis in France is expected to manufacture a new electric vehicle developed in partnership with the Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Corporation. The announcement was confirmed by representatives of the CFDT labor union, highlighting a new stage in industrial cooperation between European and Chinese car manufacturers.

According to union sources, the project involves the production of at least one fully electric model from the Voyah brand, which belongs to Dongfeng. Stellantis is expected to oversee and manage the joint venture, while the Rennes factory will serve as one of the main production centers for the vehicle in Europe.

The agreement reflects the growing importance of electric mobility and international partnerships within the automotive industry. European manufacturers are increasingly collaborating with Asian companies to accelerate innovation, reduce production costs, and strengthen their position in the rapidly expanding electric vehicle market.
