Mossad chief thanks CIA for joint operations against Iran

David Barnea, the director of Mossad Israel’s foreign intelligence agency has publicly expressed his appreciation to the CIA for its collaborative efforts in operations targeting Iran. In a rare public appearance, Barnea acknowledged the success of joint missions carried out alongside the American agency.

In a video message shared in Israel, Barnea extended his gratitude not only to the CIA as an institution but also personally to its director. He emphasized that their coordinated efforts and strategic decisions were instrumental in the success of a recent operation.

Earlier this month, on June 13, Israel launched an unprecedented large-scale offensive against Iran, initiating a twelve-day war. The stated goal of the operation was to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons a claim consistently denied by Tehran.

Experts have noted that this conflict has highlighted the deep infiltration capabilities of Israeli intelligence services within Iranian territory. However, the full extent of the CIA’s involvement in the conflict remains undisclosed.

During the hostilities, the U.S. military assisted in intercepting Iranian missiles launched in retaliation against Israel. Additionally, President Donald Trump authorized major airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities over the weekend.

Barnea affirmed Mossad's ongoing vigilance regarding Iran’s activities. “We will continue to keep our eyes wide open on Iran’s plans plans we understand thoroughly and we will be there, as we always have been,” he stated.

Shortly after the ceasefire was announced on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Iran would “never obtain a nuclear weapon.”
