Morocco: An Emerging Force in the Outsourcing Sector
In recent years, the Kingdom of Morocco has emerged as a key player on the global outsourcing stage. Ranked as the second-best destination in Africa and 28th internationally, experiencing a remarkable ascent of 12 positions according to the Global Services Location Index (GSLI) 2023, the country has successfully positioned itself amid tough competition.
Several factors contribute to this success. The geographical and cultural proximity of Morocco to Europe makes it a preferred partner. The country's political and security stability, coupled with robust technological and logistical infrastructures, further attract investors. However, the kingdom's undeniable strength lies in its human resources. With a young and dynamic population educated in top-tier institutions, proficient in multiple foreign languages, and possessing genuine technical skills, the workforce is well-distributed across the entire territory.
Recognizing this potential, the Moroccan government has consistently encouraged the sector through proactive policies: tax exemptions, investment incentives, establishment of offshoring hubs, and other technological centers. As a result, with an export turnover of 15.75 billion dirhams in 2022 and over 120,000 direct jobs, outsourcing has become a cornerstone of the Moroccan economy, demonstrating sustained growth.
This success story is something Morocco can take pride in, and it is likely to continue making waves on the international stage. Fueled by positive momentum and promising prospects, the Moroccan outsourcing sector unquestionably represents a breeding ground for innovation and a talent accelerator poised to meet the challenges of the future.
