Moneta Money Bank projects steady profits amid regional uncertainties
Moneta Money Bank, one of the Czech Republic’s leading lenders, announced that it expects to meet its profit targets for 2026 despite global economic uncertainties, including geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
CEO Tomas Spurny told Reuters that diplomatic developments in the region are likely to prevent long-term economic disruptions. He added that Moneta is considering an extraordinary dividend later this year, reflecting the bank’s strong financial performance.
Moneta also plans to pursue synthetic securitisations for 5% to 8.5% of its loan portfolio, a move aimed at improving liquidity and risk management. In the medium term, the bank is focusing on consolidation and increasing its free float, while maintaining sustainable growth for shareholders.
As the largest Czech bank without a majority foreign owner, Moneta has positioned itself as a stable domestic player in the banking sector. Analysts highlight that the bank’s cautious approach to loan management and strategic capital allocation underpins its profitability outlook.
The bank’s CEO expressed confidence that 2026 would be a year of solid performance, supported by effective risk management and continued demand for credit within the Czech market.
