Iranian state channel removes report of Khamenei’s “Imminent Speech”
The Iranian state-run broadcaster Al-Alam TV, which broadcasts in Arabic, removed shortly after publishing a report announcing an “imminent speech” by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
At this stage, the whereabouts and condition of the religious leader remain unclear. Earlier in the day, the United States and Israel reportedly targeted Khamenei in a strike. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated, “To my knowledge, all senior officials are alive; we have the situation under control, and everything is fine.”
The incident recalls a previous event following the killing of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on September 27, 2024. Initial reports from a source within the party suggested he was unharmed, but the official announcement of his death came the following day after confirmation by the Israeli military.
The situation underscores the ongoing tensions in the region and highlights the uncertainty surrounding key political and religious figures during military operations.
