Investment Opportunities in Southern Provinces of Morocco Highlighted in Italy
The investment potential of Morocco's southern provinces was showcased on Saturday in Trento, northeast Italy, during a meeting attended by a high-level Moroccan delegation. The delegation, representing the Saharan provinces, included parliamentarians, local officials, and departmental representatives.
The event brought together Italian business leaders and officials and featured contributions from Moroccan associations and professionals residing in Italy. It highlighted Morocco’s remarkable growth and dynamic development under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, emphasizing the favorable conditions for business and investment in the southern regions of the Kingdom.
Organized by the Consulate General of Morocco in Verona, the event celebrated the 49th anniversary of the Green March and the 69th Independence Day. It carried the theme, "Morocco: A Prime Destination for Tourism and Foreign Investment - Focus on the Southern Provinces." The Moroccan delegation used this platform to present the southern provinces' economic, cultural, and tourism potential, encouraging Italian investors and Moroccan expatriates to explore promising business opportunities in the region.
During the discussions, participants provided an in-depth overview of Morocco's sustainable economic development, focusing on the southern provinces' opportunities in key sectors such as tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, and renewable energy. They also highlighted the legal reforms and incentives that position Morocco as a prime destination for foreign investment.
Speaking at the event, Morocco’s Consul General in Verona, Ouafa Zahi, praised the strong relations between Morocco and Italy, which are set to mark 200 years of diplomatic ties in the coming year. She emphasized the strategic partnership between the two nations, characterized by strengthened political dialogue, robust economic and cultural cooperation, enhanced security coordination, and established mechanisms for consultations on migration and consular affairs.
The Consul General underscored that this meeting served as a platform to explore economic collaboration between Morocco and Italy, with a particular focus on the southern provinces. These regions have witnessed significant growth, becoming a hub for foreign capital and international tourism, guided by the forward-looking vision of King Mohammed VI.
She also announced plans for a series of similar events to further bilateral cooperation and facilitate agreements between economic stakeholders from Trento and Morocco’s southern provinces. This initiative aims to strengthen ties and foster opportunities for economic growth and cultural exchange between the two regions.
