Huawei launches “Four New” initiative to boost Africa’s digital growth
Rabat, December 1, 2025 – Huawei unveiled its “Four New” framework at the Africa Investment Forum (AIF), aiming to accelerate Africa’s digital development and inclusive growth. The forum brought together around 600 senior government officials, industry leaders, and development partners to discuss strategies for expanding digital infrastructure and services across the continent.
The framework focuses on New Infrastructure, emphasizing robust networks, cloud computing, intelligent technologies, and fintech as the backbone of Africa’s digital progress. Building on this foundation, Huawei promotes a New Economy, fostering industrial digitalization and innovative growth models; a New Society, enhancing public service accessibility; and New Security, ensuring safer and more resilient digital environments.
Government representatives, including Abdallah O. Souleymane O. Cheikh-Sidia from Mauritania and Ismael Nabé from Guinea, highlighted the importance of public-private partnerships and human capital development. Industry voices, such as Colin Hu from Huawei Northern Africa and Ousmane Fall from the African Development Bank, stressed the need for resilient digital infrastructure to bridge the connectivity gap affecting millions across the continent.
At a follow-up session titled “Together, Building an Inclusive Digital Africa,” Huawei presented its 5 Inclusive Solutions, designed to improve affordability, accessibility, sustainability, resilience, and innovation within Africa’s digital ecosystem. Participants agreed that collaboration between governments and the private sector, combined with strategic investment in digital infrastructure, is crucial to unlocking Africa’s full digital potential.
