The French National Police Sports Federation (FSPN) has been targeted by a major cyberattack that may have compromised the personal information of thousands of police officers and public employees, according to an official statement from the organization.

The federation confirmed that stolen data could include information linked to several years of membership records. A legal complaint has been filed, and investigations are currently underway to determine the origin of the attack and the extent of the breach.

According to online data breach monitoring platforms, the leaked information could involve around 224,000 officials. The exposed files reportedly include medical certificates, administrative documents, and several years of stored data related to FSPN activities.

The publication of the stolen information was allegedly claimed by a cybercriminal using the name “Misère”, who has previously been linked to other data leaks involving sensitive public-sector information.
