Zelenskyy arrives in Paris for talks with Macron
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Paris on Friday for scheduled talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, as diplomatic efforts continue amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
According to presidential spokesperson Serhii Nykyforov, Zelenskyy had already reached the French capital and was set to begin a series of engagements during the visit. His agenda loop reportedly includes a meeting with students alongside official discussions with French authorities.
The Élysée Palace confirmed that Macron would host Zelenskyy later on Friday. The visit marks the Ukrainian leader’s 11th trip to France since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2022.
During the talks, the two leaders are expected to review the current situation on the battlefield and discuss continued support from France and other European partners for Ukraine. Discussions are also likely to focus on ways to increase pressure on Russia.
One of the issues reportedly on the agenda is the effort to counter Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet,” a network of vessels believed to be used to bypass international sanctions related to energy exports.
France has been among the European countries supporting Ukraine through military aid, financial assistance and diplomatic backing since the beginning of the conflict.
Analysts say Zelenskyy’s visit reflects ongoing coordination between Kyiv and European allies as the war continues to shape regional security and international diplomacy.
