United States Announces $500,000 Support for Laâyoune and Dakhla Projects
The United States has announced its intention to provide $500,000 in support to projects in Laâyoune and Dakhla, which could, once implemented, bring a new dimension to the investment promotion dynamic. The announcement was made through the U.S. Embassy in Morocco.
According to the description of its grant notice, the Coordination Assistance Agency specifies that "this program will support civil society in the regions of Dakhla and Laâyoune by developing the professional skills of participants."
According to the same source, the selected projects will also contribute to creating the economic conditions that will enable associations and businesses to organize themselves and address with local authorities issues and problems important to them, whether it be resource allocation or gender equity.
The same source informs that eligible applicants for this funding include non-profit and for-profit organizations, private higher education institutions, public international organizations, and small businesses with functional and regional experience in the fields of education and human development in the MENA region.
