Summer Camps: INDH Focuses on Children's Growth and Skill Development

Beyond summer leisure, the summer camps supported by the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH) are establishing themselves as spaces for learning, socialization, and discovery. In El Haouzia, the third edition of the "excellence camp" brings together 80 children around a program aimed at reinforcing their knowledge and stimulating their autonomy.

Summer is also becoming a learning period. In El Haouzia, in the province of El Jadida, an initiative aimed at children and adolescents illustrates this approach: summer camps are no longer just associated with rest and recreational activities, but also with acquiring new skills and personal development.

As part of the programs of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), these stays offer young beneficiaries a conducive environment for discovery, personal expression, and sharing.

A Program that Combines Leisure and Learning

Art workshops, reading, socio-cultural activities, and collective work: the proposed content aims to make the summer period an extension of the learning from the school year.

The goal is notably to strengthen self-confidence, initiative, and the ability to work in groups. Collective life also allows children to meet peers from other areas and create new relationships.

This social dimension is one of the main contributions of these experiences. It promotes open-mindedness and allows participants to discover other paths and environments.

The "Excellence Camp" Continues to Develop

The third edition of the "excellence camp" is in line with this philosophy. Organized at the National Holiday Center of El Haouzia, it welcomes this year 80 children aged 7 to 14, mainly from the student houses in the province of Rehamna.

The stay is the culmination of support provided throughout the school year to students residing in the Dar Talib and Dar Taliba institutions. Special attention is given to the most deserving students as well as those who have engaged in various development programs offered throughout the year.

The initiative is organized with the support of the provincial committee for human development of the province of Rhamna, under the supervision of the provincial prefecture, and implemented by the Boussole Association for Culture and Communication.

It is part of the program of "support for youth development", which is integrated into the national summer program led by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication in partnership with the National Federation of Summer Camps (FNCV).

Three Editions, a Consolidated Approach

According to Rachid Kabli, the person in charge of this third edition, the project is based on a progressive approach.

The first edition primarily focused on socio-cultural animation. The second developed the educational support and guidance aspects further. The new edition aims to extend these achievements by continuing to support children in a more integrated approach.

This evolution reflects the desire to build a path that is not limited to the duration of the summer stay but is part of a broader support system for young beneficiaries.

Partnerships for the Benefit of Children

The organization of this edition relies on the mobilization of several partners. The national association Assafwa is notably involved in hosting the camp, which is taking place this year for the first time outside the territory of the province of Rehamna.

For Rachid Farah, head of the Assafwa national association section in Er-Rich, the challenge is to provide children with a framework that is both educational and recreational, tailored to their needs.

The activities should contribute to developing their skills, encouraging their initiative, and reinforcing values related to citizenship.

Beneficiaries at the Heart of the Initiative

For the children themselves, the experience translates into concrete discoveries. Warda Ouahab, a middle school student residing at Dar Taliba in Skhour Rehamna, is participating in the camp for the second time. She notably mentions the drawing and reading workshops, as well as the new knowledge acquired during the stay.

Badr El Adidi, from Er-Rich, emphasizes the diversity of activities and workshops offered. He particularly recalls meeting new friends and the skills developed during the camp.

These testimonies give a concrete dimension to the objectives set by the program: to create an environment in which children can learn differently, gain autonomy, and develop their ability to interact with others.

Investing in Youth Beyond Summer

Through these camps, INDH places the support of children and youth within a broader strategy of investing in human capital.

The challenge is therefore not limited to offering vacations to beneficiaries. It is also about allowing them to experiment with new activities, enhance their skills, and develop values that are useful for their educational and personal journeys.

In El Haouzia, the third edition of the "excellence camp" thus illustrates a conception of vacations as a time for discovery and personal construction. An approach that places the child at the center of a policy aimed at strengthening the skills of rising generations and, in the long term, the foundations of sustainable human development.
