Turkish and UAE presidents reaffirm commitment to strengthening bilateral ties
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation on Sunday with United Arab Emirates President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on expanding cooperation and reinforcing bilateral relations between their countries.
According to Türkiye’s Communications Directorate, the two leaders reviewed opportunities to enhance collaboration across multiple sectors and emphasized their shared commitment to advancing relations in line with mutual interests. The discussions highlighted the importance of translating diplomatic engagement into tangible benefits for citizens on both sides.
Erdoğan and Al Nahyan reaffirmed their determination to build on recent progress, particularly in areas related to economic development, trade partnerships and strategic investment. Over the past few years, ties between Türkiye and the UAE have undergone a notable transformation, shifting from regional rivalry to pragmatic cooperation driven by economic priorities and regional stability.
Beyond bilateral issues, the leaders also exchanged views on regional and international developments. They discussed ongoing diplomatic efforts and assessed current dynamics in the Middle East, underlining the importance of dialogue and coordination in addressing shared challenges.
The conversation included logistical matters as well. A previously scheduled meeting between the two presidents has been postponed, with both sides agreeing to reschedule it at the earliest opportunity.
The call reflects the continued normalization and deepening of relations between Ankara and Abu Dhabi, signaling a broader trend of recalibrated alliances and economic-driven diplomacy in the region.
