Tanger translation school graduates first amazigh and Chinese language specialists
The King Fahd School of Translation (ERFST) in Tanger has marked a historic milestone with the graduation of its first cohort of translators specializing in Amazigh and Chinese, reinforcing Morocco’s commitment to linguistic diversity and international communication.
The graduation ceremony for the school’s 38th class was held on Saturday in Tanger, bringing together university officials, academics, intellectual figures and families of graduates. A total of 109 students received their diplomas for the 2025-2026 academic year, while outstanding students from the three previous graduating classes were also recognized.
A new chapter for multilingual translation training
The latest graduating class represents an important development in Morocco’s translation sector, with the introduction of specialized profiles in Amazigh, Morocco’s official language alongside Arabic, and Chinese, a language increasingly linked to international economic and diplomatic exchanges.
The achievement reflects the evolution of translation education in Morocco, as institutions seek to respond to growing demand for professionals capable of working across a wider range of linguistic and cultural environments.
Seven translation programs and a media-focused track
The graduates completed training across seven programs dedicated to written translation and interpreting. These courses combine three modern languages selected from Arabic, Amazigh, French, English, Spanish, German and Chinese.
The school also offers an eighth academic pathway focused on translation, communication and media, preparing students for professional careers in an increasingly interconnected information landscape.
Strengthening Morocco’s linguistic and cultural outreach
The ceremony was attended by Abdelmalek Essaâdi University President Bouchta El Moumni, alongside representatives from higher education institutions and members of the academic community.
The emergence of the first Amazigh and Chinese translation specialists highlights the role of the King Fahd School of Translation in developing expertise adapted to Morocco’s cultural identity and its expanding international partnerships.
By broadening its language programs, the institution continues to position Tanger as a center for advanced linguistic studies and intercultural exchange.
